PARTS LIST:
1. Headlight set w/ wiring harness and switch. 2. Water bottle battery
3. Charger 4. Parts bag with Long Arm Mounts.
MOUNTING INSTRUCTIONS:
Place waterbottle battery into a water bottle cage on the downtube
of the bike. Excess battery wire can be pushed back into the cap on the water
bottle. In rough terrain strap bottle to cage with a toe clip strap.
NIGHTSUN batteries will operate properly in any position or location. 10"
and 21" Extension wire are available (see order from) if battery is mounted
anywhere other than the recommended location on the down tube.
SECURE WIRES
Secure with cable ties. Be sure to allow sufficient slack so wires
do not limit movement of handle bars. Make sure wires will not be snagged
by brush, or other bikes etc. Check shifter and break cables for interference
and reroute as required. Make sure noting limits free movement of handle
bars.
BATTERY CHARGING INSTRUCTIONS
Batteries are shipped with little or no charge and must be charged
prior to use. Fully discharged batteries (new purchase or little or
no light) should be charged 18-20 hours minimum. Batteries that will put
out some light require 14-16 hours minimum.
THERE IS NO NEED TO FULLY DISCHARGE BATTERY PRIOR TO EACH RECHARGE. AVOID
100% DISCHARGE IF POSSIBLE.
Nightsun 110 volt or 240 volt chargers cannot over charge the
battery, Ni-Cad batteries will become warm to the touch when fully
charged. there is no advantage in continuing to charge
a warm Ni-cad battery, but no harm either. Ni-Cad batteries require
no special storage conditions and may be stored charged or discharged.
Note: All batteries self discharge, i.e. lose power in storage at 1-2% per
day depending on temperature. Higher storage temperatures result in higher
self discharge rates. For maximum runtime charge batteries shortly before
use. After extended storage recharging is recommended for best results.
NOTE: Low beam is one lamp, the flood, Hi beam is both lamps.
XC systems provide 3.5-4.0 hours on low beam, or 45 minutes on hi-beam.
CONTINUOUS USE OF HI BEAM IS NOT RECOMMENDED. Continuous use of High
Beam will shorten battery life and void warranty. Each minute on high beam
equals 4.5 minutes on low beam.

short battery, reverse polarity or use any other charger, damage to battery
or explosion may result. Alterations to wiring harness, battery, or charger
lead connectors will void warranty and may result in damage battery, charger
and headlight set. All components are polarity sensitive, modifications to
any component, charger, battery or headlight will Impair function, and
may damage battery, charger, headlight, or tail light. Never pull on
the headlight wiring harness, battery wires or charger leads. Pull on the
plastic connectors only. Failure to follow these directions can result in
damage not covered by warranty.

CONTACT if headlight is used without airflow.
ALWAYS DISCONNECT BATTERY FOR STORAGE OR TRANSPORT. INADVERTENT
DISCHARGE CAN DAMAGE UNIT AND CAN RESULT IN HEAT DAMAGE TO SURROUNDING
MATERIALS.
Do not remove either lamp without the specific instructions furnished
with the replacement lamps. BULBS CANNOT BE REMOVED FROM REFLECTORS
Do not disassemble headlight unit in the event of lamp failure.
Specific relamping instructions are furnished with each replacement lamp.
The steps necessary to replace the lamps depends on which lamp has failed,
and the production date of the unit.
Nightsun uses specially made lamps. These lamps have no available substitute.
